Well, summertime is officially started out in Crosby as we have put, what we loving call "The Redneck Swimming Hole", back up! This is the fourth year for our little Intex pool and I can certainly say that it has been the best $249 we ever spent for our backyard.
This year we replaced the reed fencing, as it was very faded and starting to come apart, and we also decided that we needed a new sign. So flipped the sign over and now we have a Mermaid Pond.
Here is what the sign looked like for the past two years -
And here are a few of the mermaids and mermen enjoying the pool!
Hope everyone is enjoying the start of summer! Our Mermaids sure are having a blast in their pond! Maybe you should consider a Mermaid Pond for your backyard?
Because - doesn't every one dream of being a mermaid?
Wishing everyone a wonderful week!
How clever! The mermaid sign is just perfect. Love your pool and the "mer-littles" are adorable! Have a fun summer!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolyn! We had about a week of sunshine and were able to enjoy the pool again after all the torrential rain we've received over the past month or so. Our little pool is just perfect for splashing around with my "mer-littles"! Just love that phrase! Happy Sunday!
DeleteWhere did you purchase the bambo to dress the pool, may I ask.
DeleteI just had to click on this post (via Bouquet of Talent Linky Party) and leave a comment. My daughters ADORES mermaids and wants to be one when she grows up. lol While we only have a little kiddy pool in the backyard this sign would be too funny/cute to hang on the fence. And I love the color you picked...perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Audra! We decided that the pool sign needed updating and I thought a mermaid sign would be just the thing! Thanks for the kind words and have a great week!
DeleteYour mermaid sign is too cute and I love how you wrapped the pool with the reed fencing. The whole look has a beachy, tropical touch, which is really fun, especially when it's in your own back yard!!
ReplyDeleteIt is our little slice of backyard paradise! Thanks so much for dropping by!
DeleteI love when someone makes frugal fabulous and you have certainly done it. Your post is my Pick of the Week from Submarine Sunday.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much Susan! We are so honored! Have a wonderful week!
DeleteI love how this looks! We have an above ground pool too and I love how you put the reed fencing around it. It looks so much more pleasing that way. And of course, the sign is perfect! I will be pinning so I will remember this great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the new sign but the first one was pretty cool too. Can't have one of those up where I live now but I can at the farm. Love how you added the bamboo fencing around it.
ReplyDeleteLooks great
Hi Jeanette, I love, love your ideas for the pool. I actually just purchased one very similar last week thru Craig's List. I loved your idea so much that I purchased the bamboo yesterday; however, not sure how to attach to the pool. Can you tell me how you did it? Thank you, Linda
ReplyDeleteHow did you attach the reed to the pool?
